WAX Gets an Upgrade with DAPP Network Integration
Two months ago, LiquidApps and Wax embarked on a journey of collaboration to empower WAX developers with more cost-efficient resources, more flexibility, and more trustless functionality. The DAPP Network is now live on WAX, marking a new era of scalability, cross-chain compatibility, and powerful features for WAX developers.
(Update: Just two days later, WAX and the EOS mainnet were joined by Telos as chains supported by the DAPP Network. With LiquidX integrated, both Telos and Wax have a functional connection to the EOS mainnet, and a range of scaling services on their chains. )
Functions which were impossible or difficult to use before in a decentralized application are now available to every app in the WAX ecosystem. WAX developers can now enjoy all the tools and services already in action on the DAPP Network, including:
- LiquidOracles: Decentralized and trustless web oracles
- LiquidAccounts: Seamless and free end-user onboarding with non-custodial options, with no need for a software wallet, browser extension, or web wallet
- vRAM: An decentralized alternative memory solution that is RAM-compatible, decentralized, and enables storing and retrieving of potentially unlimited amounts of data affordably and efficiently
- LiquidScheduler: Scheduled and automated task service
- Zeus Software Development Kit (SDK): An open-source, cross-platform SDK with a Truffle-like interface, set of libraries, code samples and documentation for building and scaling dApps
and more — all without leaving their chain.
What Just Happened?
Activating the DAPP Network on a chain outside the EOS mainnet is done by integrating a functionality called LiquidX. LiquidX allows DAPP Service Providers (DSPs) to offer services on any EOSIO chain — making DAPP Network services accessible to other EOSIO-based chains. The EOS mainnet is used by the DAPP Network for staking, billing, and claiming rewards.
Once LiquidX was released, it could be taken by anyone from the community and integrated into an EOSIO-based chain of their choice. In this case, it was Michael Bohnen of EOS USA who made the move to get LiquidX up and running on WAX. EOS USA offers a range of DAPP Network Services as a DSP and is also a Top 21 Guild on Wax. These initiatives are already showcasing the unique synergy between these two networks.
LiquidApps LiquidX live on WAX Testnet
EOSUSA is happy to announce that we have worked with the LiquidApps team and configured the first successful…
Deploying LiquidX is not a right reserved for BPs and DSPs only. It can be done by anyone, on any EOSIO chain whether it be private or public. As the first chain outside the EOS mainnet to join the DAPP Network, WAX has blazed a new trail of interoperability and scalability for EOSIO.
WAX Guilds can also accelerate their impact by becoming DSPs. Doing so is the optimal way to expand the pool of resources available to developers building on their chain.
